Attorneys Promoted to Legal Jobs in Boston

A group of attorneys have been promoted to some coveted legal jobs in Boston.

Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP today announced that seven of its attorneys have been appointed Co-Chairs of various Boston Bar Association (BBA) Committees. The attorneys – Kristin T. Abati, Douglas R. Gooding, Kathleen Cloherty Henry, Lisa E. Herrington, Carlos Perez-Albuerne, E. Macey Russell, and Jennifer E. Tracy – will provide leadership, expertise, and experience on critical issues facing members and the legal profession.

Kristin T. Abati, a Partner in Choate’s Wealth Management Group, has been appointed Co-Chair of the New Developments Committee of the Trusts and Estates Committee Section. Ms. Abati has extensive experience in estate planning and estate and trust administration, and speaks regularly on estate planning and wealth management strategies.

Douglas R. Gooding, Practice Group Leader of Choate’s Finance & Restructuring Group, has been appointed Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy Law Section. Mr. Gooding’s practice focuses on finance and creditors’ rights & bankruptcy. He is also a member of the firm’s Hiring Committee.

Kathleen Cloherty Henry, Choate’s Hiring & Pro Bono Partner, has been appointed Co-Chair of the Public Service Committee. She also is a member at large of the BBA’s Delivery of Legal Services Section and the Mentoring Group. At Choate, Ms. Henry focuses exclusively on legal recruiting and managing the firm’s pro bono efforts.

Lisa E. Herrington, a Partner in Choate’s Finance & Restructuring Group, has been appointed Co-Chair of the Practice & Procedure Committee of the Bankruptcy Law Section. Ms. Herrington’s practice focuses on finance and creditors’ rights & bankruptcy.

Carlos Perez-Albuerne, a Partner in Choate’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group, has been appointed Computer & Internet Law Committee Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section. He also is a member at large of the BBA’s Administration of Justice section. At Choate, Mr. Perez’s practice focuses on litigation regarding intellectual property, information technology, and complex commercial issues. He also is a member of the firm’s Diversity and Technology Committees.

E. Macey Russell, a partner in Choate’s Major Commercial Litigation Group, has been appointed Pipeline and Recruitment Co-Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Section. At Choate, Mr. Russell focuses his practice on financial institution litigation and major commercial litigation. He also is Co-Chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee.

Jennifer E. Tracy, an associate in Choate’s Government Enforcement & Compliance and Major Commercial Litigation Practice Groups, has been appointed Co-Chair of the Public Policy-Criminal Law Section. She also is a member at large of the BBA’s Criminal Law Section. Ms. Tracy’s experience includes representing companies and individuals in government investigations, litigation, and internal corporate investigations.
