Education jobs in Boston climb

New labor statistics show that education jobs in Boston have grown.
The state’s total unemployment rate remained at 3.6 percent in August.
Over the month, the private sector added 6,000 jobs as gains occurred in Education and Health Services; Leisure and Hospitality; Professional, Scientific, and Business Services; Information; Construction; and Financial Activities.
Education and Health Services added 2,500 (+0.3%) jobs over the month. Over the year, Education and Health Services gained 9,800 (+1.2%) jobs.
Leisure and Hospitality gained 1,700 (+0.4%) jobs over the month. Over the year, Leisure and Hospitality added 11,300 (+3.1%) jobs.
Professional, Scientific, and Business Services added 1,500 (+0.3%) jobs over the month. Over the year, Professional, Scientific, and Business Services added 28,100 (+5.0%) jobs.
Information gained 900 jobs (+0.1%) over the month. Over the year, Information added 100 (+0.1%) jobs.
Construction added 500 (+0.3%) jobs over the month. Over the year, Construction has added 10,700 (+7.0%) jobs.
Financial Activities gained 200 jobs (+0.1%) over the month. Over the year, Financial Activities added 1,300 (+0.6%) jobs.
