Posted on September 18, 2013

A executive formerly from Caesars has been recruited for executive jobs in Boston.

The Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau recently announced the election of John Payne, Caesars Entertainment’s President for Central Markets and Partnership Development, to a three-year term on its Board of Directors.

Payne joined the company in 1995.

Payne is one of the company’s two presidents, and oversees properties in eight states as well as ongoing partnership activities. He leads Caesars’ efforts to develop and operate a casino resort at Suffolk Downs.

Payne is a graduate of Duke University and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a Board member of the Audubon Institute, the Drew Brees Dream Foundation and the Idea Village.

Patrick Moscaritolo, President & CEO of the Bureau added: “John’s experience as a Board member of the New Orleans CVB and the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation will surely pay big dividends for our region’s visitor economy as he helps us drive new business, new jobs and more visitors to our city and the Boston region. John developed the model for integrated city casinos in New Orleans, where the company partners with local hotels, restaurants and visitor attractions. Caesars and Suffolk Downs’ desire to replicate this model in Boston will mean new joint marketing opportunities for our members and new business for our city.”
